About Me
Hi, I’m Matthew, a third-year PhD student at the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). My research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), personal tracking, and sustainable computing. I am a member of the Personal Informatics Everyday (PIE) Lab, where I am advised by Daniel Epstein. Currently I am working on research to explore the technological implications of sustainable mobility decisions in groups. Broadly though I’m particularly interested in how technology can support people in making informed and eco-friendly choices in their daily lives. Before joining UCI, I earned my B.A. in Information Science from Cornell Bowers CIS, where I worked with Cheng Zheng in the Smart Computer Interfaces for Future Interactions (SciFi) Lab. During my time there, I contributed to research projects on novel sensing and wearable prototyping.
